Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha which received mixed response from the critics manages to do a fair business on box office. It minted over Rs. 13 crore on its opening day. The film saw an upsurge in its collection post afternoon. It is expected to do a good business on Independence Day, as the film is based on a social issue of open defecation in India. The film released on Friday and received rave reviews from a number of Bollywood celebrities.
“Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” is in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to improve the sanitation conditions, with an emphasis on the eradication of open defecation, especially in rural areas.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh was quite impressed by Akshay Kumar-starrer. He posted all praises for the film on his official Twitter account. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha features Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar as Keshav and Jaya whose lives take an unexpected turn when Jaya decides to leave her husband for the lack of toilets. The film was on August 11, 2017 ahead of India’s 70th Independence Day.
